PSOB Memo from Grand Lodge President PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 12 May 2009 00:47

The National FOP has been in contact with the White House and we have been assured that the Public Safety Death Benefit Program has not been changed and that the full benefit mandated in the Federal Law will be provided to all survivors and approved disability cases.

The funding that had been projected by Justice has been reduced but there are more than enough funds budgeted and if a budget shortfall would occur the Justice department would be mandated to find funding from an alternate program.

We will monitor this program as we always do and if there are any further developments we will provide information as timely as possible.

- Chuck Canterbury, National President

What is an actively participating lodge member and why should I be one? PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 27 January 2009 19:58

Some of the lodge benefits are available only to "actively participating" members.  We feel that the future of our lodge is dependent upon actual participation, to at least some degree, by the members.  We also realize that some members seek only the association with our name.  While that is certainly acceptable, and we appreciate all members, we have determined that there should be some benefit to doing the work that it takes to keep the lodge going.

The definition is:  A member who attends a minimum of one half of the scheduled monthly meetings.  Excused absences will be granted due to scheduled work.  Unexcused absences can be made up by participating in an approved service or lodge project as approved by the president.

New Grill PDF Print E-mail

The new grill has arrived.  The lodge approved purchase of a large grill that can be towed to special events and has our lodge name prominently displayed.  What would be a better way to break it in than at a lodge meeting?  That's what we're doing at the April meeting on Monday, April 27, starting at 7:00 p.m.  Please come to try out the new grill and to talk to brother and sister officers.  We also need to finalize details for the annual Memorial Ceremony.
